A Sign From Above

City Hall Approves Correcting Emergency Services Campus Signage Oversight

Correcting an oversight at Barrie City Hall last night. City Council gave the okay to spend $35,000 on installing new signage at the Emergency Services Campus currently under construction.

As it turns out, signage was omitted from the original plans, and those in the know felt it a good idea to let folks know who is in the building. A lighted sign denoting it as a Barrie Police and County Paramedics station will be installed during construction.

Also out of council chambers last night, a notion to cut back on the noise coming from the city’s biggest highway. The Engineering Department is being asked to look at whether sound barriers can be installed along the 400 through residential parts of Barrie. If it’s feasible, some could be installed as the 400 widening is finished up.
