Orillia OPP say they have commenced an arson investigation after receiving a report about an animal on fire in the city on Monday afternoon.
Provincial police and Orillia Fire responded to the Colborne Street East and West Street South intersection at 5 p.m.
Derek Tilley, Orillia OPP Media Relations Officer, told Barrie 360 that due to the nature of the incident, he couldn't provide more details about what happened or what type of animal was involved.
Tilley did say the animal died and that an "accelerant" was found close by the scene.
