Assault charge laid after employee struck at Orillia business around noon Wednesday

Helpful witnesses on scene made for a quick arrest

Assault charges laid in Orillia after someone decked a King St. business employee.

Officers out of Orillia OPP detachment were called to the King St. establishment shortly before noon Wednesday, with reports of an assault. Police were told a verbal disagreement started between the employee and a man, resulting in the employee being punched in the face.

Witnesses on scene were able to identify the suspect. Officers took a 31-year-old Penetanguishene man into custody, charged him with assault, and gave him a June 30th court date.
