
The 2025 Barrie Airshow, presented by Pratt Homes, will be taking place this weekend (Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8). This free event is supported by the City of Barrie, the Canadian Forces Base Borden, the County of Simcoe, Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, and the Downtown Barrie BIA.
Kick off this exciting weekend on Friday at the Aviation Career & Education Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre. Later Friday evening, join us at 8.p.m. at Meridian Place for a meet-and-greet with pilots and performers of the 2025 Barrie Airshow, followed by a drone show presented by Pratt Homes and Commissionaires. Spectators will see 225 drones over Kempenfelt Bay come together to create colourful imagery in the night sky. Following the drone show will be an outdoor screening of Top Gun presented by the Downtown Barrie BIA.

The festivities continue Saturday and Sunday with family activities, displays and vendors each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The airshow will kick-off with the Muskoka Extreme Water Ski Show beginning at 12:00 p.m. followed by the opening address and air display each day. The show will include the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks Parachute Team, the CF-18 Tactical Demonstration Team, a CH-146 Griffon Helicopter, the Northern Stars Aeroteam, Timmerman’s Legends of Flight Vought FG-1D Corsair, the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association, the Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation, an awe-inspiring wing walking act, and more.
The weekend will also include:
- Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Activities and vendors at Heritage Park, Meridian Place, and Dunlop Street, including Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden interactive displays and vehicles, Open Air Dunlop, family programming, food and merchandise vendors, patios, and more
- Saturday & Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. – Flying Monkeys licensed area at Heritage Park
- Saturday & Sunday, 12 p.m. – Muskoka Extreme water ski show at Heritage Park
- Sunday, 11 a.m. – CFB Borden Brass & Reed Volunteer Band at Meridian Place
Viewing & Tuning In
Recommended viewing for the Airshow is at Heritage Park, Centennial Park, Will Dwyer Park, Southshore Park, Allandale Station Park, Minet’s Point Park, or any of the small parks along the north and south shores of Kempenfelt Bay.

NEW! Inclusion Services Area
Our Inclusion Services Area, located near the playground at Centennial Park, is designed to ensure all guests feel welcome, supported and comfortable throughout the show. This strategically designed and located space features a variety of sensory-friendly accommodations to assist in making everyone's airshow experience the best it can be! We have noise-cancelling headphones that can be borrowed, calming fidget tools, and sensory tents for those who may need a break from the excitement. Flexible seating options are also available to meet diverse comfort and accessibility needs. Trained inclusion support will be on staff to help support, as well. We are excited to welcome everyone to our inclusion area at the 2025 Barrie Airshow!
Getting to the Show
Barrie Transit is offering a free park 'n ride shuttle from Sadlon Arena (555 Bayview Drive,) H Block parking lot (50 Worsley Street), and other shuttle stops along the route to get you to and from the Airshow festivities on Saturday and Sunday.
Parking is available within walking distance along the waterfront and throughout the downtown.
The following road closures will be in effect over the weekend:
- Dunlop Street (Maple Avenue to Mulcaster Street) from 6 a.m. Saturday, June 7 to 3 a.m. on Monday, June 9.
- Simcoe Street (Bayfield Street to Dunlop Street East) from 6 a.m. Saturday, June 7 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8.
Viewing from the Water & Access Restrictions
For the safety of the public and airshow pilots, a safety line will be formed from Brentwood Marine to Johnson’s Beach. Water access and water-based activities will be restricted in the area west of the line (including Centennial Park and Minet’s Point Park) during the following times:
- Friday, June 6 – 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, June 7 – 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, June 8 – 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
*Times are approximate and subject to change on the day of the show
Restricted activities include boating, access in and out of the marina and boat launches, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, etc. The safety line will be enforced by the Barrie Police and their service partners on Lake Simcoe.
The Tiffin Boat Launch will be closed all day June 6-8 reopening at 6pm on June 8. Boaters are encouraged to consider using nearby public launches including Innisfil and Orillia area.
No Drone Zone
The airspace will be restricted June 6-8. For the safety of all involved, flying of drones or any radio-controlled aircraft anywhere in the area is strictly prohibited. Airspace safety at the Barrie Airshow is enhanced with counter-drone technology from D-Fend Solutions.
Personal Safety
For the personal safety of all spectators, please consider the following recommendations:
- Wear ear protection, especially for children
- Wear a hat, sunglasses and apply sunscreen
- Stay hydrated
