Barrie and Simcoe Pride Helping to Mark Trans Day Of Remembrance
Flag Raisings, Walks and Gatherings To Remember Those Lost to Prejudice
Today is Trans Day of Remembrance, marked every November 20th since 1999.
The day has quickly grown online as a means of remembering those of the Trans community suffering or lost to hate and prejudice, and was established as a website “Remembering Our Dead” in San Francisco.
To mark the occasion, Barrie Pride and Simcoe Pride are holding a series of events, including flag raisings, gatherings, and memorial walks.
