Barrie Council to livestream first virtual City Hall meeting as mayor emerges from self-isolation
Up for debate: an increase in garbage tags for folks staying home more
Barrie’s mayor has come out of self-imposed isolation just in time to chair City Hall’s first virtual meeting.
Councillors will meet via the video conferencing app Zoom, with a council meeting scheduled for 5:00. The meeting will be streamed live on YouTube for public consumption.
Good morning. This weekend I finished my 14 day self isolation with no symptoms. I am at City Hall today, observing distancing, and will be chairing our first online @cityofbarrie Council meeting later today, then working from home after that. #flattenthecurve

In its first meeting in the last two weeks, council will discuss providing citizens with more garbage tags per week while they stay at home more often, a new appointment to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit Board, and will take in a presentation from the city’s CAO on the COVID-19 situation.
