A 54-year-old Scarborough man is facing impaired driving charges after Barrie Police say he was spotted driving a heavily damaged vehicle.
Officers were called shortly after 11 Saturday night to the area of Yonge Street and Big Bay Point Road.
Police say parts were falling from the vehicle as it travelled along Yonge Street, and it was being driven on a bare rim because of a flat tire.
Officers stopped the vehicle and began an impaired driving investigation.
The driver was taken to Barrie Police headquarters, where a breath test showed his blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
