Driver charged following vehicle rollover in downtown Barrie

UPDATE: Police have charged a 76-year-old Barrie woman with careless driving.

Barrie firefighters used the jaws of life to reach a person trapped in a minivan after it rolled at the intersection of Dunlop Street and Toronto Street.

Police spokesperson Peter Leon said it happened around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

One individual was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Barrie Fire confirmed the vehicle struck a light standard.

Police added that their investigation continues.
