Provincial police are investigating an ATV collision that claimed the life of a 10-year-old Barrie girl.

East Algoma OPP say they were called to a road off of Highway 17 on Wednesday afternoon where an ATV slid down an embankment and rolled on top of one of the occupants.

The child, who was not identified by police, was transported to a hospital in Richards Landing where she was pronounced deceased.

Police say a post-mortem will be done at a later date.
