Year-over-year, there was a large increase in the average sale price of residential units in Barrie.
For March, the Barrie and District Association of Realtors (BDAR) says the average price of units sold was $929,089 -30 per cent greater than one year ago. However, the number of units sold (271) was off by 45.5 per cent last month compared to March 2021. BDAR says even though home sales were down considerably from last year's unprecedented March record, they still came in well above the typical levels for this time of year.
Month-over-month, the number of units sold in Barrie in March was 4.6 per cent more than the number of units sold in February, with the average price of sold units down 3.6 per cent last month compared to February. BDAR says there was a large increase in new listings in March, up 65.9 per cent in Barrie from February.
Across Simcoe County, 829 units were sold in March, which is 37.4 per cent less than the same time last year. The average price of residential units sold was $977,077, up 29.1 per cent than that of March 2021.
