Barrie home prices fall, down 21.9% from a year ago

The number of homes sold compared to a year ago also slipped
Barrie landlord fined $55,500 for Residential Tenancies Act violations

A downward trend in home prices in Barrie.

The Barrie and District Association of Realtors (BDAR) says the average home price in March was $725,965--21.9 per cent less than a year ago.

195 homes were sold last month, a drop of 27.8 per cent from March 2022.

Crunching the numbers month-to-month, the BDAR says the number of homes sold last month was 50 per cent more than in February, while the average price of a home in March compared to February was just 0.8 per cent less.

Across Simcoe County, the average price of a home in March was $821,378, down 18.1 per cent from March 2022.

The number of homes sold was 378 last month, off nearly 32 per cent year-over-year.
