An increase in new listings in March "is a positive sign" says the Barrie and District Association of Realtors (BDAR).

Listings in Barrie were up more than 25 per cent from February to March.

While the average price of $768,674 was slightly lower on a month-over-month basis ($771,374 in February), it was 6.35 per cent higher than a year ago ($722,752 in March 2023).

"The March statistics showcase the resilience and adaptability of Simcoe County's real estate market.

-BDAR Chair, Lindsay Percy

Prices across Simcoe County were up 2.07 per cent from a year ago to an average $871,394 ($853,716 in March 2023).

"The increase in new listings from last month is a positive sign, offering more options for buyers and contributing to a healthy market dynamic as we move into the spring market," said BDAR Chair, Lindsay Percy.

While sales dipped by 1.35% from last year, Percy said a robust rebound from February to March of 18.17% signals a vibrant market.
