Feel free to dip more than just a toe, because the water’s just fine and they’ve got the flag to prove it.
The City of Barrie marina, along with beach areas one and two in Wasaga Beach, have been given the Blue Flag Designation yet again this year, recognizing the gold standard water quality and environmental management, along with safety and amenities.
“When you see a Blue Flag flying at a beach or marina, you know that it’s clean, safe and sustainably managed,” said Kelsey Scarfone, Water Programs Manager with Environmental Defence. “These world-class beaches and marinas have worked hard to achieve the standards set by this prestigious award, and we’re proud to recognize that accomplishment today.”
Waubuno Beach in Parry Sound also made the list this year, while a record 28 beaches and 12 marinas across the country made the cut.
