A 32-year-old Barrie man surrendered to police on Tuesday and was charged with sexual assault.
South Simcoe Police say this is in connection to an incident reported to them by a woman who said she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male at a beach in Innisfil on Monday afternoon. The suspect fled the scene. The woman was not physically injured.
The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
