Barrie Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the northwest part of the city on March 29 in connection with a child pornography investigation.
Police say they received a report of an unknown suspect downloading several images of child pornography.
Investigators learned the identity and address of the suspect and then executed a search warrant.
Police say they found child pornography on a computer device belonging to the accused.
A 59-year-old man was charged accessing and possessing child pornography. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Police say several other computer devices belonging to the accused were seized for forensic analysis.
