The Special Investigations Unit says no charges will be laid following a crash involving Barrie Police officers.
Around 12:30 on the morning of May 18th, two officers were out on patrol when they spotted a black pickup that was reported stolen. The officers approached the vehicle on foot and let the 31-year-old woman behind the wheel know she was about to be placed under arrest.
The SIU says the woman instead accelerated, striking the wall and front entrance of a church, fracturing her right hand in the process.
Joseph Martino, Interim Director of the SIU says there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges in relation to the woman’s injuries.
