A collision involving a marked Barrie Police vehicle forced the closure of a long stretch of Dunlop Street, as well as a stretch of Ferndale Drive in Barrie Wednesday morning.
Just after 8:00 a.m., Barrie Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash at Ferndale Drive North and Dunlop Street West, where a vehicle collided with a Barrie Police vehicle that had its emergency equipment activated.
As a result of the crash, Ferndale Drive was closed between Edgehill Drive and Elliott Avenue (roughly 900 metres) and Dunlop Street was closed between Tiffin Street and Sarjeant Drive (just over 1.8 kilometres).
Both drivers were taken to hospital as a precaution after receiving minor injuries.
The BPS Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation after roads were reopened in the area at 11:38 a.m.
