Barrie police are giving full marks to a person who was allegedly robbed downtown.

Police say the individual was able to get away from his assailant, notify authorities and monitor the location of the suspect until officers arrived and arrested a 33-year-old man from Barrie.

Police say they were alerted around 10 p.m. Wednesday about a robbery on Collier Street, east of Clapperton Street, and that a male suspect was armed with an edged weapon, though none was found when the accused was taken into custody.

He has been charged with robbery and has a bail hearing on Thursday.
