Barrie police executed a search warrant on Thursday at a magic mushroom store that was the scene of a fire earlier this week, which is being investigated as arson.
In a news release, police said they seized a quantity of suspected psilocybin.
The blaze at Shroomyz, located on Dunlop Street West at Mary Street, was called in shortly after 2 a.m Wednesday.

"Once the fire was extinguished, it was determined that a window on the west side of the business had been broken and, through the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, that the fire had intentionally been set," police said in a news release.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal.
Police are requesting the assistance of the public and is asking that anyone who may have information as to who is responsible for this incident or may have dash camera video and was travelling on Dunlop Street, either eastbound or westbound, before or shortly after 2:00 a.m. on April 23, 2025, to email Detective Constable Kyle Linkletter of the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at klinkletter@barriepolice.ca.
