Barrie police: Evidence seized as firearms investigation remains ongoing

Police seized evidence from two locations
Edgehill Firearms Investigation

Barrie police say evidence was seized from two locations in relation to a firearms investigation that has been ongoing over the past few days.

On Sunday, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Edgehill Drive where evidence was seized.

Then on Monday night, police conducted a search warrant at a Queen Street residence where additional evidence was seized. A portion of Queen Street was closed briefly for the investigation.

"The complexity of this investigation is requiring the Barrie Police Service to utilize various resources and investigative techniques in the interest of public safety," police wrote in a release. "As a result, details that can be shared with the community are limited at this time."

Police say detectives are analyzing the seized evidence as the investigation continues into the isolated incident.
