Barrie police release results of New Year's RIDE spot checks

While people were saying goodbye to 2023 and ringing in 2024, Barrie police had three different RIDE locations set up on Sunday and into the early hours of New Year's Day on Monday.

According to police, the results were:

  • 1,253 vehicles stopped
  • 39 alcohol screening device tests administered
  • One 3-day licence suspension
  • One 50-year-old man arrested and charged with driver over .80 mgs
