Barrie police have put on hold their search for a child after someone reported seeing a boy walking eastbound along the grassy median on Lakeshore Drive toward Minet's Point Road.

Spokesperson Peter Leon says the call came in around 7:45 Monday morning. The caller told police the child was approximately three-years-old and had blonde hair, and blue eyes, and was wearing blue pyjamas and blue rain boots.

Leon says officers searched the area and there have been no additional sightings or missing person reports received regarding a child.
