Barrie resident banned from driving charged with speeding

A Barrie resident who is a prohibited driver was charged by South Simcoe Police on Tuesday after a vehicle was pulled over for speeding.

During the investigation, the officer discovered the driver had been banned from operating a vehicle because of criminal conviction in 2022.

The 35-year-old was charged with speeding and operating a vehicle while prohibited.

The person's BMX X3 has been impounded for 45 days, and the driver has a court date next month.
