Barrie Resident Can Dream to the MAX

Anthony Schincariol is richer by a million bucks

A Barrie man thought he had won just a dollar when he checked his ticket the day after the July 31 LOTTO MAX draw.

75-year-old Anthony Schincariol was off the mark by a country mile. Turns out, he won the $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize.

I checked my numbers on and thought I had won $1,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “Then I saw all the zeros! I was shocked – I couldn’t believe it!”

When he told his girlfriend the good news, she thought he was kidding.

Schincariol was a winner several times that night. He won an additional $4 and a Free Play on other sections of the draw.

He plans to use his winnings to buy a new vehicle and renovate his home.

“It feels like having a tremendous weight lifted off your shoulders,” he concluded.
