One man critically hurt in Barrie stabbing, another injured

One man is in critical but stable condition after a stabbing in Barrie.

Police say they were called to a home on Wellington Street East around 5 a.m. Sunday for reports of an altercation and stabbing involving two men who had attended a gathering for a mutual acquaintance.

A 21-year-old from Springwater Township was taken to hospital with critical but stable injuries.

A 36-year-old Orillia man was also taken to hospital for injuries suffered during the altercation.

Police say their investigation continues, and charges are pending.
