Residents can register for City of Barrie summer camps starting Tuesday, March 24. Non-resident registration opens on Tuesday, March 31. Starting today, customers can browse programs and save them to their “Wish List”, to conveniently find desired programs when registration opens.
“Families choose our camps because they know their children will have a safe, meaningful and memorable summer experience,” says Kevin Datema, Director of Recreation & Culture Services. “Our programs are designed to be fun, engaging and supportive for kids and youth across Barrie.”
Eligible families are encouraged to take advantage of Camp Access, the City’s fee-assistance program that provides qualified youth aged 6 to 13 an opportunity to participate in an exciting summer camp experience at no cost. Camp Access is intended to remove financial barriers and ensure more Barrie youth have an opportunity to participate in summer camp. For details visit barrie.ca/CampAccess.
The City also offers recACCESS, a separate fee assistance program that provides support to low-income families and individuals in Barrie by providing qualifying participants with a recPASS membership, and children and youth credits that can be applied to the registration fee for qualifying programs and activities.
Browse and register for summer camps at play.barrie.ca or register in person at Allandale Recreation Centre (190 Bayview Drive), East Bayfield Community Centre (80 Livingstone Street East) or Peggy Hill Team Community Centre (171 Mapleton Avenue).
