Barrie synagogue to hold 'Solidarity Community' service in response to Hamas attack

The rabbi at Am Shalom synagogue in Barrie says the entire Jewish community is overcome with grief due to the devastating attacks by Hamas on Israel.

"We have Israeli families in the community who have family members in Israel. It is an especially difficult time for them," said Rabbi Audrey Kauffman, in an email to Barrie 360. "We have provided our members with contacts for where they can provide donations for funds and supplies."

Kauffman noted that there will be a "Solidarity Community" service at the Huronia Road synagogue on Sat. Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

"We will be inviting politicians, other faith communities and individuals to join us."

Kauffman added that more details will be provided.
