News release - Barrie Terry Fox Run Committee
On Saturday, May 25th, members of the Barrie Terry Fox Run attended the Terry Fox Organization Provincial Conference in Toronto.
The Barrie Terry Fox Run Committee received a Certificate of Achievement, acknowledging that Barrie has achieved $3 million dollars in fundraising, to date.
“On behalf of the Barrie Terry Fox Run Committee, we would like to share this milestone achievement with the people of Barrie who have volunteered, participated, and donated to the Terry Fox Run,” adds Marilyn Nigro, run organizer.
This week is the launch of a new challenge for 2024 to the Barrie businesses. We have created a new
streamlined approach for your business to donate $44 in honour of the 44th Terry Fox Run.
There are 4405 businesses in the City of Barrie. We challenge you to create a team and join us on Run Day, September 15th, or simply donate $44 to team Barrie44. The Terry Fox Foundation is
introducing a motivating initiative inspired by Terry’s determination – No Matter What. We are certain that businesses will accept our challenge and bring Barrie’s fundraising to new levels, #NoMatterWhat.
In 2023, Barrie raised $109,000. Let’s surpass this goal with our new Team Barrie44. Your contribution will be featured on our social media and on Run Day.
