Barrie Winterfest returns February 7 and 8, offering two full days of seasonal fun at Centennial Park, throughout downtown Barrie, and at other venues across the city. A long-standing community tradition, Winterfest is consistently ranked as one of Ontario’s top winter festivals and attracts visitors from across the province.

Outdoor programming and entertainment at Centennial Park will run Saturday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, February 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to scheduled performances and activities, visitors can watch professional ice sculptors transform 300-pound blocks of ice into stunning creations throughout the weekend. This year’s snow and ice sculpture theme, “Tropical Beach,” will bring a splash of sunshine to the snowy season, with ice sculptures illuminated at night for a truly magical viewing experience. Top off your Winterfest adventure with a visit to one of downtown Barrie’s many restaurants and cafés.

Note: The City had to cancel 2026 NYE celebrations due to weather. At that time, it was communicated that the City would attempt to reschedule Kim Mitchell for Winterfest. Unfortunately, Kim Mitchell is unable to play Winterfest due to his busy tour schedule, but staff are working with his team to have him back to Barrie soon. The fireworks that were scheduled for NYE will be added to a City of Barrie event later this year. More details to come.
