Barrie’s splash pads to open Saturday as originally scheduled

Health unit gives thumbs up

Splash pads at Heritage Park and Lampman Lane Park in Barrie will be open Saturday after all.

An announcement from the city early Friday afternoon said they would not be open since Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit inspectors would be unable to complete safety checks of the facilities.

Apparently they did.

A message from the city Friday evening said the health unit had confirmed requirements had been met for the splash pads to open.

The City reminds residents to continue to follow public health guidelines:

  • practice physical distancing;
  • no gatherings of more than ten people;
  • stay home when you are sick.
