Four Baycats stand among the IBL's best.
The Intercounty Baseball League announced its 2025 All-IBL teams with two Barrie Baycats players represented on each of the first and second teams for the second consecutive year. League coaching staff and executives vote on the selections.
Once again, team ace Frank Garcés was a first-team selection, joined by first-time honouree Noel McGarry Doyle who finished his first full IBL season in his five-year career.
First baseman Nolan Machibroda got back-to-back second team selections, while IBL rookie Tristan Clarke also earned a second team selection.
McGarry Doyle got a mid-season pro opportunity in the Frontier League, but didn't let an early release slow him down upon return to the IBL.
Barrie's centerfielder hit .373, which ranked highest on the team and fourth-best in the league. He also added 23 RBI, and a career-best five home runs. His 1.013 OPS also ranked top five in the IBL among qualified hitters.
He also added strong defense at an important position for Barrie. All 32 of his games were started in center field, where he didn't record an error and added three assists.
This is the third-consecutive first-team selection for Garcés and fourth in five IBL season, earned by putting up numbers that rank among the best in Baycats history.
The Dominican left-hander struck out 116 batters to lead the league and set a single-season franchise record. He also pitched a career-high 89 innings while pitching to a 5-3 record and maintaining an ERA of 2.22 and a .98 WHIP.
Both of Nolan Machibroda's IBL seasons have been recognized with All-IBL selections. Splitting time between first base and designated hitter, he led the league in doubles (15) while launching four home runs and racking up 37 RBI.
Machibroda's RBI total was 10 more than 2024's and led the Baycats. His season was also highlighted by league-best 15-game hit streak.
Tristan Clarke, who typically hit behind Machibroda in the lineup, had a stellar rookie year offensively and defensively.
His nine home runs led the Baycats, and he added 32 RBI while hitting .323, despite entering the season far removed from his college career and without pro experience.
Notably, the Brampton-native was also seen as a stabilizing presence in the Baycats' clubhouse, often helping teammates with their offensive approach. Clarke also had countless highlight-reel defensive plays in left field that stood out for the team in 2025.
Among former Baycats, Toronto's Jordan Castaldo was a first-team selection for the fifth time in his career after leading the league with 12 home runs and 1.148 OPS.
