Since 2003, the Home Instead Senior Care Networks's Be A Santa To A Senior program has been spreading cheer to lonely and financially challenged seniors during the holiday season.

The program has been in Midland for seven years, and is now in Barrie.
Home Instead Senior Care partners with local non-profit and community organizations to identify seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season to take part in this program. These seniors are able to make requests for gifts they would like to receive by writing them on a Be A Santa To A Senior bulb.

These bulbs are then placed on Christmas trees at various locations, accessible to the public. The tree in Barrie will be at Primary Health Pharmacy at 370 Bayview Ave.
You are encouraged to visit this location, choose a bulb off the tree, and purchase something off the wish list for that particular senior. There will be a designated box at the same location for you to leave your unwrapped gifts.

From there, offices collect the gifts from the tree locations, schedule and host wrapping parties with local volunteers and deliver the gifts to their designated recipients.
