Man's body found in canal, case is now a homicide say South Simcoe Police

Police say victim has ties to Toronto

South Simcoe Police say a man whose body was recovered from a canal was the victim of a homicide.

Police were called around 1:30 p.m. on Good Friday to the area of Canal Road between Simcoe Road and the 5th Line in Bradford.

A post-mortem examination was completed on Sunday.

Police have determined the victim has ties to Toronto. His next of kin have not been notified.

Further details, including the victim's identity and cause of death, will not be released at this time, say investigators
