A tragic end to the search for a 67-year-old man who was reported missing from his home around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday. Police began searching the area around Portage Road in Georgian Bay Township. Searchers were assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Aviation Unit, OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Detachment Marine Unit.
Around 10 a.m. on Sunday, the body of the missing man was located in Baxter Lake, east of Honey Harbour.
No foul play is suspected and the investigation is continuing.
