Bracebridge OPP urge snowmobilers to use extra care following three separate collisions

Operators suffered serious injuries in each collision

Provincial police with the Bracebridge detachment have investigated three single-vehicle snowmobile collisions in less than 24 hours, all of which have resulted in the operators being taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the first collision happened Friday afternoon on Beaumont Drive in Bracebridge when a sled struck a parked vehicle. The second collision was about an hour later near South Kahshe Lake Road in Gravenhurst when the operator was ejected and his snowmobile rolled over him. A third collision happened around 10:45 a.m. on Saturday when a rider plowed into a tree.
