Bradford man facing child porn charges after border agents intercept package

Canada Border Services Agency officers tipped off South Simcoe Police

A Bradford man faces nearly a dozen charges in connection to a child pornography investigation.

The South Simcoe Police Service was contacted by Canada Border Services Agency officers in early October after intercepting a package said to contain child porn. The subsequent investigation by police led them to a home in Bradford.

Police executed a search warrant at the home on Thursday and say a quantity of child pornography and several electronic devices were seized.

A 36-year-old man was arrested and faces charges including importing child porn, mailing obscene matter, accessing and distributing child porn, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Kai Johnson at (905)775-3311, ext 1040, or via email at kai.johnson@southsimcoepolice.ca.
