Bradford driver charged after being caught going nearly double the speed limit

A Bradford driver is facing a stunt driving charge after South Simcoe Police say he was caught going nearly twice the speed limit.

Just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, South Simcoe Police say an officer clocked a vehicle travelling 153 km/h in an 80 zone in the area of Sideroad 10 and Line 12 in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

A 43-year-old man was charged with speeding, stunt driving, and failing to surrender an insurance card.

His licence has been suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

The accused has a court date in October.
