Bradford Man Charged With Sharing Intimate Photos

South Simcoe Police have arrested a man accused of sharing intimate images on social media.

A 52-year-old man is facing a charge of Distribute Intimate Image Without Consent after a woman contacted investigators on Monday. She told police a man she knew shared photos of her on a social media site. The Bradford man was promptly arrested and charged.

“It is a criminal offence to knowingly publish, distribute, transmit, sell, makes available or advertise an intimate image of a person knowing that the person depicted in the image did not give their consent to that conduct,” according to a police statement, “South Simcoe Police Service wants to warn the public about sharing intimate images online even if you think it’s safe to do so. Once the images are out there you can’t get them back. Always protect your privacy.”
