
A large altercation at the BWG Leisure Centre in Bradford West Gwillimbury on Wednesday was investigated by South Simcoe Police, who made an arrest Thursday.
At 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, police received multiple reports of a large altercation which involved 10-15 youths and an older male. Within one minute of the initial call, officers arrived on scene.
Police investigated and determined that a 59-year-old man from Bradford was the dominant aggressor responsible for turning the altercation physical.

Thursday, he was charged with:
Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) s.175(1)(a)—Causing disturbance
Every one who not being in a dwelling-house, causes a disturbance in or near a public place is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.
Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) s.266—Assault
Every one who commits an assault is guilty.
Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46) s.733.1(1)—Failure to comply with probation order
An offender who is bound by a probation order and who, without reasonable excuse, fails or refuses to comply with that order is guilty
The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to contact Constable Trenouth with the South Simcoe Police or Crime Stoppers.
"South Simcoe Police are aware of community concerns in and around our parks and recreation areas and take all incidents of disorder seriously," the service said in a news release. "Increased patrols and engagement initiatives have been and will remain in place to ensure public safety in these areas."
