Car plows into fence in Barrie, driver charged with impaired

A 27-year-old Orillia man has been charged after a car plowed into a fence in Barrie.

Police say they received several calls around four Thursday morning about the incident on Ardagh Road near Patterson Road.

"The driver was located nearby and placed under arrest," police said in a news release.

He has been charged with impaired driving, theft of a vehicle and drug possession.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have dashcam or other footage in the area, including a Tesla that drove by the area shortly after.
