Orillia OPP: Three sent to hospital after collision involving vehicle and train

Train-Vehicle Collision

Orillia OPP say three people were transported to local hospitals for injuries after a collision involving a train and a vehicle in Oro-Medonte.

On Saturday around 5:30 p.m., OPP and paramedics were dispatched to the scene south of Coldwater on Mount Saint Louis Road East between Line 9 North and Line 10 North.

Police say the vehicle entered the path of the train while the railway signals were engaged, causing the collision.

OPP advise drivers to use caution when approaching railway crossings and note that trains are always much closer than they appear.
