News release from OLG
The possibilities are endless for Ronald Hughes of Barrie after winning $1,000 a week for life with INSTANT CASH FOR LIFE (Game #1178). Ronald opted for the lump sum payment of $675,000.
Ronald says he has been playing the lottery occasionally for the past 10 years. "INSTANT tickets are my favourite," he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. "I was at home in my favourite chair when I decided to play my ticket. I revealed the three cash for life logos and couldn't believe it. I turned on the lights and grabbed my glasses – it was a moment of shock!"
Ronald says he was so excited to learn about his win, he didn't sleep for two days. "I never believed in Santa Claus until today," he joked. "This is a good time in my life to enjoy a lottery win."
Ronald is still deciding what to do with his winnings. "First up, I will treat my brother to a nice meal," he smiled.
INSTANT CASH FOR LIFE is available for $4 a play and the top prize is $1,000 a week for life. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.45.
The winning ticket was purchased at Maple Convenience on Dunlop Street in Barrie.
