Catholic school board given green light to build new school in Alliston

Province providing $15 million to the effort

A new Catholic elementary school is coming to Alliston.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board has been given the go-ahead by the Ministry of Education to start the process of constructing a new school in the town, while the province has provided $15 million to do so. The new school is expected to provide 470 new elementary student spaces, 49 new licensed child care spaces, and three new child care rooms.

“From modernizing our curriculum to revitalizing our classrooms and their facilities, we are investing in our students and giving them every tool to achieve their full potential,” said Education Minister Stephen Lecce. “Progress towards the construction of the new Alliston Catholic Elementary School further demonstrates our government’s solid commitment to this growing community and to the families that deserve quality learning and modern facilities for their children.”

The as-yet named school will be located at 81 Willoughby Way.
