Charges laid after shotgun fired from Tiny Township porch

83-year-old man facing a number of charges following Tuesday evening incident

Charges have been laid after shots were fired at a home in Tiny Township.

The Southern Georgian Bay OPP says a man was spotted firing a shotgun from the deck of a home on Tripp Lane at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the shots were being fired in the direction of another residence, adding the man went in the house, leaving the shotgun on the front deck.

Officers responded right away to secure the area, including having nearby residents shelter in place. Police were able to make contact with the man by phone, and he agreed to surrender. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

An 83-year-old man faces charges including careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and mischief.
