Charges laid in ATV and UTV collision in Innisfil

Driver of ATV charged with impaired driving offences

The driver of an SUV is facing several impaired charges after two off-road vehicles collided on a dirt trail in Innisfil on Sunday evening.

South Simcoe Police say the collision, in the area of Belle Aire Beach Road east of the 20th Sideroad, caused the ATV to roll onto its side, tossing the male driver and a female passenger from the vehicle. The passenger was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver had minor injuries.

The driver of the UTV (side-by-side) was not injured but the vehicle had extensive damage.

A 31-year-old from Innisfil man is up on three charges including impaired operation causing bodily harm. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
