For a long time, the coffee chain has offered customers a free small cup filled with whipping cream to give to their dogs.

It's affectionately known as a "Pup cup."
Word got out on social media that instead of getting your human toddler a cake pop, which costs cash, get them a "pup cup" instead.
Some people lie and say it's for their dog so they don't get the stink eye from the barista.
And while some people slammed the move, saying it's dishonest, the coffee chain doesn't mind.
They gladly welcome treating your little human to a "pup cup," and there's no need to lie about who it's for.
A statement from Starbucks says "We love seeing the different ways our customers brighten loved ones' days with Starbucks. Customers can order a side of whipped cream with the purchase of a beverage at no extra charge."
