Slight chill in Barrie housing market

Average selling price off six per cent from the month of April
Barrie landlord fined $55,500 for Residential Tenancies Act violations

The local housing market cooled some in May.

The Barrie and District Association of Realtors (BDAR) notes an increase in the number of listings but a decrease in the number of sales.

BDAR says there were 202 residential units sold last month, off one per cent from April, but down 45 per cent from a year ago in May.

The average selling price was $841,040, down nearly six per cent from April, but up 13 per cent from a year ago.
