City, Sadlon To Work on New Arena Signage

Sadlon Arena At Centre Ice

Barrie City Hall has finalized a deal that would change the name of the south end arena, now the rebranding can begin.

A $1.7 million deal would see the facility renamed the Sadlon Arena, of Paul Sadlon Motors fame, but work needs to be done to get that name out. First, the arena’s marquee needs to be replaced, while new signage also needs to be developed and installed throughout the facility. The City and Sadlon will share the costs of these updates.

The name Sadlon Arena also needs to be placed at centre ice. The City and Sadlon Motors are expected to coordinate and agree on the design of the signage.

This ten-year naming rights deal would see the city earn annual revenue, with Saldon paying the city $170,121 in annual installments over the next decade.

Part of the deal stipulates that Mr. Sadlon will be granted the exclusive use of a parking spot at the Sadlon Arena.
