A driver is in life-threatening condition in a Toronto trauma centre after being rescued from a burning vehicle by Clearview Township firefighters following a collision near Edenvale.

At around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, OPP say first responders were alerted about a three-vehicle collision on Highway 26 between Rainbow Valley Road and Strongville Road.

Police arrived on scene and discovered one of the vehicles was engulfed in flames.

"Officers attempted to extinguish the fire surrounding the driver who was trapped inside," OPP said in a media release on Wednesday.

Clearview firefighters managed to extinguish the fire and extract the driver from the vehicle.

The drivers from the other involved vehicles sustained minor injuries and did not require a trip to the hospital, police stated.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, who has dash cam footage, any video footage or is a local resident in the area who may have CCTV footage, please contact the OPP Huronia West Detachment at (705) 429-3575 or toll free at 1-888-310-1122.
