Clearview Township Culture & Sports Hall of Fame awards presented for 2019 and 2021

Recipients were nominated by fellow community members in nine distinct categories

Clearview Township was overjoyed to present the Culture & Sports Hall of Fame Awards for 2019 and 2021 at the Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony on June 14, 2022, at the Stayner Community Centre.

Mayor Doug Measures was both proud and gratified to recognize Clearview’s outstanding community members in person once again.“We are blessed in Clearview Township to have a culture of competitive sports, and talented artists. Congratulations to the nominees and award recipients on behalf of Council and all in our community”.

“We were happy to unveil the permanent home of the Clearview Culture & Sports Hall of Fame in the atrium of the Stayner Community Centre and Clearview Public Library, Stayner Branch”, said Terry Vachon, General Manager of Parks, Culture & Recreation who was delighted to host the ceremony in the newly renovated Community Centre.

Created in 2018 to honour individuals who have made a positive impact on the sports and cultural community in Clearview, recipients are nominated by fellow community members in nine distinct categories.

Awards were presented to the following recipients by Clearview Township Mayor Doug Measures, General Manager Parks, Culture & Recreation, Terry Vachon, and Community Culture & Tourism Coordinator, Amanda Murray:

2019

  • Young Leader in Sport Award – Sarah Harris
  • Athletic Achievement Award – Paul Crevier
  • Builder Award – Larry Sinclair
  • Community Volunteer Award – Mary Enrico
  • Community Volunteer Award – Brandon Ward
  • Festival & Event Award – Copper Kettle Festival, Creemore Springs Brewery
  • Team Award – Stayner Squires 1978-1986

2021

  • Athletic Achievement Award – Earl Wilson
  • Builder Award – Grant Casbourne
  • Community Volunteer Award – Valerie Hughes 
  • Festival & Event Award – Canada Day Social Distancing Celebration, Clearview Chamber of Commerce
  • Artist Achievement Award – Sara Sniderhan
  • Young Leader in Culture Award – Jess Bowman

CAO John Ferguson was honoured to take part in the ceremony with Clearview community members, “It was an honour to be involved with recognizing our Hall of Fame Award recipients and their contribution to personal excellence and community building” he stated.

The legacy awards will be on display in the atrium of the Stayner Community Centre and Clearview Public Library, Stayner Branch to recognize the outstanding contributions from individuals and organizations in Clearview Township for everyone to see.
